Dear Real Man,

I call you a real man not because you are faithful to your wife and love your children.

I call you a real man not because you own the brand of loyalty that caused you to sacrifice your freedom and do some time in the joint in the stead of snitching on your homeboy who actually committed the crime.

I call you a real man not because you can “dagger rel good”.

I call you a real man not because you have “swimmers” and have fathered several children.

I call you a real man not because the ladies love the D.

I call you a real man not because you open doors and pull out chairs.

I call you a real man not because of anything you’ve done.

There is nothing that you can do, cannot do, will do or will not do that will invalidate what you are: MAN.

I call you a REAL man because God says you are.

When He formed you in your mother’s womb he said that you were to have a mixture of chromosomes that would result in the formation of a human being that is male. He decided that you were to have a cocktail of hormones that would result in your ability to produce the spermatozoa that is one half of the human embryo.

You are a real man because God says you are.
